Working together to save lives...

About Us

Who is rescue…?

We are a group of individuals, groups, volunteers, workers, veterinarians, independent rescuers, humane investigators, transporters, a coalition of humane societies, shelters, humane organizations, shelters, not-for profit organizations, pounds, well... Just regular people, scattered throughout the state of Illinois and beyond. We strive for the rescue and humane care and treatment of the animals in our community, state and throughout our country. Together we have saved over 6,000 precious lives in 2007!

 We are Rescue…

Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. is 501(c)(3), not for profit and no-kill!

Our goals are to ensure that every animal is treated with the respect that they deserve; to educate our communities on the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to solve the pet overpopulation problem; the humane treatment and care of all animals and the rescue and transportation of the many animals that are being put to death in our communities every day, due to no fault of their own.

More on what we do!

Every day in the United States, thousands upon thousands of puppies and kittens are born due of the out of control breeding of pets. Add to that number the offspring of stray and abandoned companion animals, and the total becomes even more staggering. Every year, between six and eight million dogs and cats enter U.S. shelters; some three to four million of these animals are euthanized because there are not enough homes for them.

Solving the Pet Overpopulation Problem more...

We encourage you to do something. Doing nothing accomplishes just that: nothing.

Animal Abuse and Neglect

When you see a dog stuck on a chain for days or come across a web site that glorifies animal suffering, your action is critical to stopping it!

Dear anyone who will listen…

We are doing all that we can to save many of the helpless animals, scarcely making a dent. When given the opportunity to tell our story (or the animals’ stories) it is like detonation. An explosion fueled by compassion, heartache, and despair and filled with a desperate plea for help.

Beyond doing everything that we can, with only a few, and trying to save as many of the helpless ones, we are trying to educate our society on the importance of spaying and neutering, humane treatment of animals. Overall, that these animals are loving compassionate souls who deserve a chance at a respectable life filled with humane treatment and compassion.

I would have never known as a child what I would be living, breathing and struggling to do, in my future.
Today, "I am rescue” (IAR).

Just to name a few; Shelter workers, volunteers, friends (there are people that I have never actually met face to face, but consider them to be the most important people I will ever know.) and others that spend their lives trying to make a difference in our society, one animal at a time, to no expense.
"They are Rescue”.

As a group we are fighting to prevent the suffering, overpopulation and mistreatment that the animals are undergoing in the state of Illinois and our country.

Please take heed that these pictures are very difficult to look at, but they are all the dreadful reality which is happening every day in Illinois and the throughout our country. These few pictures are only a small amount of those that we see on a daily basis.

In looking at at least one and spreading the word, you too are “Rescue”.

We invite you! TO RESCUE!
