DISASTER CAUSES COUNTIES IN ILLINOIS TO BE DECLARED ‘DISASTERS’

The normal flooding caused by the mass amounts of animals (kitten/puppy season) flooding into facilities has expanded this year with the water flooding of homes, offices and businesses, which are leaving more animals homeless and suffering unnecessary euthanasia. Through loss and devastation, brings just that, loss and devastation, not only to us, but to the animals.

For months now, rescuers have been trying to save not only the thousands of animals that would normally be put to death daily, due to the vast overpopulation of animals, but now they are struggling to rescue hundreds more! They are under pressure to rescue them from flooded facilities throughout the state, with many more animals then normal inundating them, due to flooding in our communities.

Rescuers are working tirelessly, day and night to pull as many adoptable animals from death, disease, abandonment and unnecessary euthanasia.

With flooded homes, facilites, and animal controls, where will the animals go?

RESCUE OF THE WEEK!

3 beautiful Boxer girls RESCUED from their horrible past & fate, in a puppy mill!

Dottie is a two and a half year old Boxer. She was a puppy mill mommie. They kept breeding her even after she lost her leg, because she made such beautiful babies!!!

  Heidi
No one realized what torture she had been put through in her 3 short years of life as a puppy mill breeding dog. The puppy mill did a "home C-section" on her to remove her puppies, with not much if any, anesthesia. More...

Lexi
The puppy mill relinquished her to the pound to be euthanized. Her puppies were worth nothing to them nor was she. She watched as her entire litter of puppies died of starvation, as the puppy mill did nothing.

All 3 beautiful girls are now available for adoption through Illinois Animal Rescue.

STOP PUPPY MILLS! The truth about...

Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc is made up of individuals, rescuers, transporters, humane investigators, a coalition of humane societies, and many others. We are just regular people, scattered throughout the state of Illinois and beyond, dedicated and working together to save these precious lives.

RESCUED! IAR strives to rescue, transport and offer humane care to the animals in our communities throughout the state of Illinois and the surrounding states.

We are Rescue…

RESCUED!

Over the years, we have all saved thousands upon thousands of animals; in 2007 over 6,000 precious lives where saved from abandonment, neglect, abuse and unnecessary euthanasia. This was all accomplished through generous donations of volunteers. Costs are increasing, so we need to reach out to YOU, the community to help us fulfill our mission - the saving of the innocent lives. Illinois Animal Rescue, Inc. is a licensed,      501(c)(3), non profit and no kill rescue organization.

IAR strives to rescue, transport and offer humane care to the animals in our communities throughout the state of Illinois and the surrounding states.

Our goals are to ensure that every animal is treated with the respect that they deserve; to educate our communities on the importance of spaying or neutering their pets to solve the pet overpopulation problem; the humane treatment and care of all animals; to rescue the many animals that are serving life sentences in no-kill facilities due to the lack of education about rescue; and the rescue and transportation of the many animals that are being put to death in our communities every day through no fault of their own. The efforts of the coalition of rescuers, has saved over 6,000 lives in 2007.

The dogs and cats are so very appreciative of your support. Together we can save these forsaken, loving 'innocents' who are condemned to death.

RESCUED!

Number of cats and dogs in 2007 that have been saved through Illinois Animal Rescue's Coalition: Over 6,000!
We are so very appreciative of your support, and we will continue to grow our network bigger and better in 2008. In the coming year, we will continue our goal to rescue every single animal in Illinois, gain exposure for the pounds in need and develop good relationships with only the best rescues that meet our criteria.

I Am An Animal Rescuer

My job is to assist God's creatures
I was born with the drive to fulfill their needs

I take in helpless, unwanted, homeless
creatures without planning or selection

RESCUED!

I have bought dog food with my last dime
I have patted a mangy head with a bare hand
I have hugged someone vicious and afraid

I have fallen in love a thousand times
And I have cried into the fur of a lifeless body too many times to count
Juniper still awaiting rescue at Williamson County Pound CLICK HERE TO RESCUE!

I have animal friends and friends who have animal friends
I don't often use the word "pet"

I notice those lost at the road side

And my heart aches

I will hand raise a field mouse

And make friends with a vulture
I know of no creature unworthy of my time

I want to live forever if there aren't any animals in Heaven

But I believe there are
Why would God make something so perfect and leave it behind

Some may think we are master of the animals
But the animals have mastered themselves

Something people still haven't learned

War and abuse make me hurt for the world

But a rescue that makes the news gives me hope for mankind

We are a quiet but determined army

And we are making   a difference every day

There is nothing more necessary than warming an orphan
Nothing more rewarding than saving a life

No higher recognition than watching them thrive

There is no greater joy than seeing a baby play
Who only days ago, was too weak to eatPac-Mans (waiting at the Rainbow Bridge) siblings on their way to RESCUE!

By the love of those who I've been privileged to rescue
I have been rescued

I know what true unconditional love really is
For I've seen it shining in the eyes of so many
Grateful for so little

I am an Animal Rescuer
My work is never done
My home is never quiet
My wallet is always empty
But my heart is always full
